Famous American photographer Steve McCurry, best known for his photo the Afghan Girl, is currently exhibiting in Budapest.
McCurry’s themes include international conflicts, vanishing cultures, ancient traditions, and contemporary culture alike. By using rich and vibrant colour prints, he never fails to capture small moments in daily life with all its struggles and joy.
His image of the Afghan Girl was the cover of National Geographic during the Afghan-Soviet conflict in 1985. The photo also symbolises his characteristic portrait style.
The selection of the 50 photographs is based on a private collection and is placed in geographical order rather than chronological.
